as far as war ending years ago at 11am..
i guess it’s fitting that Veteran’s day is on November 11..
and my cousin felled to the same fate in Vietnam..
i suppose folks still aren’t getting the message..
on a global basis..
but we are lucky..
in no wars on our soils..
But luck runs out..
in human ways..
With no guarantees..
For a country that overall no longer cares..
to know or overall even cares..
about the gift of freedom..
about the gift of freedom..
anymore to even disagree with it..
as such..
for the most
part..

i refuse to do that..

Life can be dirty business..
with hands that are no longer lilly white..
But thank goodness there are those willing
to persevere and get a little dirty
to love a tree to life..

in dirt and water
alive as such..
living is truly all

all play chess together..

water ‘us’ is all ‘we’ ask….
Perfection is the beast of man..
the true killer of free will..
There is a time when i fight with my wife..
over bricks moved out of straight
line..
ANOTHER brick in the wall is

and only visit it..
like a never changing soap opera..
ever year and then..

i sing and dance..
with other folks
whether they want to join in or not…
To make one’s

can be a hard path..
but it’s worth

i don not write as much as poetry is born again in me…i hear you man…it is one of the ways i respond and interact with the world..and thanks for playing off us in your write and letting your words tumble forth..i appreiciate my freedom…i know it for what it is…i would rather not war, but understand too the why behind some battles…i would hope we creative creatures could come up with a better way than obliterating ourselves….
Yes..Brian.. life without true creative spirit is reality for me for decades…
It’s another world to me then..and for many others in my life..
that still live like like then for me..
then..
Stuck in a cold world of limitations and expectations..
in mechanical computer like cognition..
when truly freedom can be ours..
following mutual..local..state..and federal code..
as such..
The parameters are there..
to see border lines..
finding free though
IS still possible..
i know for sure..
floating through stores..
in reverse and such..
all i have to truly do..
is
believe
in me…
and let the naysayers ring..
silently with words never sinking in

To win a war – avoid the battle … (didn’t Sun Tze say that?)
Yes.. i think he did..and in general in Eastern philosophies of war per martial arts philosophies the way nature is duplicated..and nature does show over and over again..that in a world without tools of killing among social animals..and even some territorial ones like cats..they will avoid the battle..to seek to save the bigger picture..the species..as inherent trait..
For example..in my extremely homophobic..patriarchal..red state local culture..it ‘ain’t’ a place conducive for males displaying feminine belly dancing in a huge bar of 600 patrons dancing all together chest to chest..
So even when one weighs in at 222LBS..robust looking from exterior as such..there is gonna be someone homophobic looking for a fight with any guy..that displays so called feminine behavior like this..i did encounter it at first in my new hobby of dance at the big metro rave dance with college kids more than half my age…
So i did my warrior dance..
which includes extreme martial arts…
Well in our computer oriented screen world..
where the art of human movement continues to take a fall..
for a person to master the art of movement in martial arts…
it does give them the upper hand in a good ‘looking’ defense to deter an offense of action…
After doing this..in the dance hall….
i get many ‘excuse mes’..
now…
when guys bump into me by accident and such as that…
on the dance floor of life..
But never the less i’m harmless..
i never spar with flesh and blood folks..
the art of martial arts for me..
is just a dance..
where i spar with metal workout machines
in a maze of about 50 of them..
at my local military gym..
i never want to ‘taste’ human blood or feel flesh in battle..
And so far in life..
at 53..
This is my greatest success..
never being in a real fight…
or battle as such…
But in our larger world..
as social animals..
as seen in primate cultures..
the greatest risk for battles in social animal populations.
is during the competitive mating process…
i truly believe that widely and freely accessible pornography..
is a way to avoid war in the small battles among the masses…
Vicarious sex..for the more aggressive leaning folks..who compete for
mates..and cannot find them..
per the serial killer rampage type..
or even just the bar room brawler serves a purpose of peace…
This type of male when satiated through vicarious sex..
Is less likely to get in fights..
The statistics although not specific per all the related potential variables
do give at least some credence to this theory..
Per the drop in violent crime in the US..
since widely available free access to internet porn….
But this will not stop the folks at the top…
in the industrial military complex leaning folks like
the Bush administration and the cronies as such…
But while i have this unique way of spotting lies in folks eyes..
that not everyone shares and saw right through Bush eyes
from the beginning of that Iraq farce…
Freedom of information through the internet..
Wiki leaks and such as that..
Makes lying like that for big wars..
much harder for those folks
to do in now..
as opposed to then…
Of course all in just my humble arm chair opinion..
as a watcher of sorts…:)
I enjoyed your poetic response here! I like the idea of born again poetry….and also like the idea that perfection is the beast of man. We never can achieve it. Sorry about your cousin who was killed in Vietnam. War has taken too many good men (and women). Have a good week!

a good thing about the blog-world is that it exposes you to a multitude of different writers, with different styles, inspirations, voices, imagery etc. which one can certainly buzz off of as you have here, finding your own words planted in those of others – rather poetic in itself! Inspiration of the piece aside, you’ve come up with many great images here, with “Life can be dirty business..” and “i do not write poetry as such i am born again poetry…” being just a couple of my favourites. I also think you’ve found the essence of poetry itself with that last line, “It’s ME”.
